WSU Baseball: We’ve Added A Stats Page!
Hey out there! I’m back from my crazy long writing absence to present something awesome to you guys. It’s especially awesome for any of you who write about or analyze WSU baseball. So like, four of you.
Other Brett and I were talking the other day, while he was getting ready to write his first series recap, about how inaccessible college baseball stats are. Yes, there are websites that compile the basic stats and some advanced ones, and you can get the basic stats from each individual school, but nowhere is there a comprehensive collection of sortable data.
So, to make things easier for you guys, we set out to create one such database! Just a short while ago we launched a new page on the blog, “WSU Baseball Stats,” you can find it right under the header or at that link you just read.
There we have for you a database updated following each series, which is also sortable! A decent amount of time went into this, so we hope you enjoy it and we hope it helps you in some way.
We’re hoping this is a sustainable venture, something we can keep up for the rest of the year. If the feedback is positive and the demand is there, we’re thinking about going back to past years and creating similar databases. Just let us know in the comments!
EDIT: I’m trying to better refine my wOBA formula, so if at any point you see a weird jump in anyones wOBA numbers, it’s because I changed the coefficients in the formula. Just thought I should warn you all.
SECOND EDIT: I have edited the wOBA formula! I changed a few of the coefficients and now I have a formula I like. It’s not going to change for the rest of the year.
This is going to be gold for KUGR Broadcast. thanks :)
Well hey, perfect, already helped out one person! That was the goal. Glad you like it. We figured it would be much more useful to people than a simple PDF.
